Morissette happy at excited na ipalalabas na sa Pilipinas sa June 25 ang "Song of the Fireflies"

HAPPY at excited ang tinaguriang Asia's Phoenix na si Morissette dahil sa wakas ay maipalalabas na sa Pilipinas sa June 25, 2025 ang kauna-unahang niyang pelikulang "Song of the Fireflies" matapos itong maipalabas sa abroad at humakot ng awards kabilang na ang Best Actress para sa singer-actress.

"Nakakatuwa na finally our movie will be shown here in the Philippines. I'm happy and excited to share our movie to the Filipinos. Kasi talagang pinaghirapan namin ito at ang daming pinagdaanang challenges ng movie like the pandemic and everything," sabi ni Morisette nang makausap ko siya sa mediacon ng "Song of the Fireflies."

From her humble beginnings sa "Star Factor" ng TV5 noon hanggang sa tagumpay na tinatamasa niya ngayon, nakita ko ang pag-elevate ng career ni Morissette. Naaalala ko pa nga sa interview ko sa kanya noong baguhan pa lang siya, sinabi niyang pangarap niyang magkaroon ng role na related din sa music. Makalipas ang maraming taon, natupad ito sa pagganap niya sa "Song of the Fireflies" bilang si Alma Taldo, ang devoted founder ng Loboc Children's Choir (LCC) sa Bohol.

Bongga nga si Morisette dahil first movie niya pa lang ay nagka-award na agad matapos niyang manalong Best Actress sa 2025 Manila International Film Festival.

"Honestly, hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala," sambit ni Morisette. "I'm just proud of myself for trying something different. I'm just so happy na itong first film ko is something close to my heart, music-related pa rin. I'm so blessed and grateful that I get to continue my journey as a singer, grow as an actress and storyteller, and also as a mentor sa mga susunod na magre-raise ng flag ng OPM to the rest of the world."

Ang "Song of the Fireflies" ay isang tribute rin sa extraordinary journey ng Loboc Children’s Choir sa guidance ni Ma'am Alma (Morissette).

Bukod kay Morissette, nagwagi rin sa 2025 Manila International Film Festival ang "Song of the Fireflies" ng Best Picture at Special Recognition Award, si Rachel Alejandro ng Best Supporting Actress, at Noel Comia Jr. ng Best Supporting Actor. Nanalo rin ang pelikula ng Platinum Remi Award sa WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival.

Kasama rin sa cast ng pelikula sina Krystal Brimner, Chai Fonacier, Via Antonio, Cai Cortez, Tommy Alejandrino, Alex Medina, at syempre ang Loboc Children's Choir.

Tampok sa pelikula ang musika nina National Artist Ryan Cayabyab, Louie Ocampo, Raimund Marasigan, Jazz Nicolas, at Krina Cayabyab.

Ang movie ay produced by Culturtain Musicat Productions with MQuest Ventures, in cooperation with Quezon City Film Development Commission, CMB Film Services, and Hartman Communications.

Directed by King Palisoc, ang "Song of the Fireflies" ay mapapanood na sa mga sinehan nationwide simula sa June 25, 2025.

SIBONGA TINUPAD ni Beautederm CEO and founder Rhea Anicoche Tan ang kanyang pangako na magdo-donate ng isang milyong piso sa Kasuso Foundation na pinamamahalaan ng  Ogie Diaz para sa breast cancer patients. Sa Christmas party ng Kasuso Foundation na ginanap noong December 1, ibinigay na ni Ms. Rhea ang tseke na nagkakahalaga ng isang milyong piso para sa breast cancer patients na tinutulungan ng foundation.
