PMPC nagluluksa at nakikiramay sa pagpanaw ni Direk Pete Mariano

Nagluluksa ang mga opisyal at miyembro ng Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) at nakikiramay sa pamilyang naulila ng yumaong direktor na si Pete Mariano.

Si Direk Pete ay maraming beses nang naging katuwang ng PMPC sa iba't ibang activities ng grupo lalo na sa Star Awards for Music, Movies at Television. Kaya naman labis na nagdadalamhati ang PMPC sa biglaang pagkamatay ng direktor.

Bago ang pagpanaw ni Direk Pete ay siya pa ang muling nagdirehe at nag-eedit ng virtual awarding presentation ng 14th at 15th Star Awards for Music. Ngunit hindi na niya ito nagawa pang tapusin kaya naantala rin ang dapat na pagpapalabas nito.

Narito ang official statement ng PMPC:

The Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) is deeply saddened by the passing of Director Pete Mariano. His untimely demise is a significant loss to the entertainment industry, and his contributions will be profoundly missed.

Director Pete Mariano was a valued collaborator with the PMPC for several years, notably on projects such as the Star Awards. His dedication and expertise were instrumental, especially during challenging times like the pandemic, where he played a pivotal role in the successful virtual presentation of the Star Awards for Music.

Tragically, Director Pete Mariano's passing has impacted ongoing projects, including this year's Star Awards for Music, which he was overseeing. Despite the project being nearly completed and scheduled to air this May, its progress has been halted due to this unforeseen circumstance. Additionally, all pertinent materials for the event were in his possession at the time of his passing.

Efforts were made to coordinate with Director Pete Mariano's family to retrieve the necessary files for the Star Awards for Music event. However, due to the nature of the situation, this process took longer than expected.

In light of these developments, the PMPC humbly requests the patience and understanding of all Star Awards for Music winners. To mitigate any further delays, the PMPC is committed to releasing the official winners of the Star Awards for Music imminently.

The PMPC extends its heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their cooperation and understanding during this challenging time.
