Troy Laureta muling ibinida ang OPM sa kanyang bagong album na "Dalamhati"

Pagmamahal sa Original Pilipino Music ang nagtulak sa Filipino-American musical director, producer at singer na si Troy Laureta kaya naman nabuo niya ang tatlong volumes ng OPM Collective sa kanyang mga album na "Kaibigan," "Giliw," at sa latest album niyang "Dalamhati" under Star Music.

"You know I had this dream ever since I was a kid, I’m always into music. I grew up with music. I grew up with Filipino music and I always had this weird thinking ‘Oh my god wouldn't it be cool... I’m doing this all-Western music if the Western singers would do our music?

"It was until the pandemic that I was given the opportunity to start this trilogy. It started with 'Kaibigan,' then with my second album 'Giliw,' and now "Dalamhati." It's basically the story of unrequited love. It’s for me, very Filipino. It’s a story of my life and how relationships kinda develop. You go from friends to lovers and then this is basically my heartbreak album,” salaysay ni Troy sa mediacon para sa "Dalamhati" na ginanap kamakailan sa Dolphy Theater.

Ang nakabibilib sa "Dalamhati" album ni Troy ay nagawa niyang pakantahin ng OPM hits ang mga sikat na foreign singers tulad nina Jordin Sparks para sa awiting "Akin Ka Na Lang," Katharine McPhee ("Kailan Kaya"), Pia Toscano at Loren Allred ("Gusto Ko Nang Bumitaw"), Lalah Hathaway ("When I Met You"), Wendy Moten ("Come In Out Of The Rain"), at iba pa.

Syempre ipinagmamalaki rin ni Troy ang mga kaibigan niyang sikat na OPM artists na nakipag-collaborate sa kanya para sa "Dalamhati" album na kinabibilangan nina Martin Nievera, Ogie Alcasid, Regine Velasquez, Sheryn Regis, Morissette, Kyle Echarri, Dessa, at Jed Madela.

Ayon kay Troy, bagama't ang "Dalamhati" ang last album para sa kanyang OPM Collective, hindi ito ang huling gagawin niya para ibida ang OPM sa buong mundo.

“I am obsessed with Filipino music so what lies ahead for me might be more original Filipino music like I’ve written and worked with some of the artists here," ani Troy.
