Direk Jun Lana bumilib sa husay ni Vice Ganda sa comedy at drama

AMINADO ang award-winning director na si Jun Robles Lana na bumilib siya sa husay ni Vice Ganda hindi lang sa comedy kundi maging sa dramatic scenes nito sa Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 entry na "And The Breadwinner Is."

"Believe me when I say, Meme (Vice) is a brilliant actor. Hindi niya lang nare-realize yun, hindi niya pa lang ine-embrace yun," sabi ni Direk Jun.

Inihalintulad pa ng direktor ang talento ni Vice sa yumaong Comedy King na si Dolphy.

"Ang paniniwala ko... and this something I always say in my workshops... when you witness a comedian cry is also the time that you witness true devastation. Alam mo yun, kapag ang isang komedyante ang nagpaiyak at naiyak ka, mawawasak ka.

"Parang si Tito Dolphy dati, iilan lang naman yung dramatic films niya e, di ba, 'Tatay Kong Nanay,' 'Markova.' But those are the performances that stayed with us.

"And si Meme possesses that same kind of power and as Bambi, she’s funny, she’s delightful but at the same time she’s also heartbreaking and affecting. To be able to balance those extreme emotions, it’s no joke. Hindi madali iyon.

“I can honestly say that Vice Ganda delivered and accomplished it with absolute mastery,” pagmamalaki at papuri pa ni Direk Jun kay Vice.
